Strong Q1 For Domtar

A positive financial picture for Domtar.

The company is out with its first quarter report and net earnings are totalling $54-million.

That’s compared to a net loss of $386-million in the fourth quarter of 2017 and net earnings of $20-million in the first quarter of last year.

President and Chief Executive Officer John Williams says Domtar continues to see strong price momentum for their products and higher price realizations in both their pulp and paper businesses.

Williams adds the short-term outlook for the pulp and paper markets continues to be favourable.
