Students Struggling with New Program

A report on the new 4 year Graduate program says thousands of Ontario kids have either dropped out or are at risk of failing to graduate.
The study by Professor Alan King shows that 25% of students in the recognized program are unlikely to pass.
Janet Wilkenson is the Director of Education for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and says the Provincial trend is reflected locally.
Wilkenson says the Board is trying to reverse the trend through late literacy programs.
Wilkenson says more and more students are returning for a 5th year to earn the credits needed for their diploma.
As many as 14,000 students who failed to graduate last year decided to come back for a 5th year.
