Today is “Giving Tuesday”.
It comes on the heels of the consumer chaos from Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Co-founded by the non-profit charity ‘Canada Helps’ in 2013, Giving Tuesday has become a grassroots movement of giving and volunteering.
President and Chief Executive Officer Marina Glogovac says the day is designed to not only inspire kindness and generosity but also raise awareness about the importance of helping others.
Glogovac says it has grown into a global network of people interested in highlighting the importance of doing good stuff, giving back and engaging communities.
More than 150 countries are now involved including North Korea.
