The devil is in the details, when it comes to the fine print of proposed federal tax changes.
So says Charla Robinson with the Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce, who adds there is a difference between what politicians say, and what is written in legislation.
Robinson calls the written changes “broad” and notes the government has done a poor job explaining certain points of their plan.
She adds they want to see specific examples of what the Liberals are trying to achieve.
Robinson notes the new rules will handcuff small businesses and their ability to set aside money needed to survive during lean times.
She says the government is trying to set-up a “rainy day” fund, stressing northwestern Ontario has already seen significant “rainy days” and can’t afford any more.
