The Kenora District Services Board warns that Municipal Levies will be going up to cover the cost of an arbitration award given to land ambulance workers.
Local taxpayers could be on the hook for $1.1 million according to CAO Sten Lif.
Lif says they want the Province to step to the plate and cover 50% of the costs.
Last month, Paramedics were given a 27.7% hike and clerical staff received a 28.8% increase.
The contract is retro-active to 2001 and expires at the end of the year
