Northern Ontario’s Attawapiskat First Nation no longer controls its own finances.
Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Duncan has placed the financial affairs of the impoverished reserve in the hands of third-party management.
The reserve has been in the spotlight this week over deplorable living conditions.
Duncan has also ordered an audit to try to determine what
happened to the $92-million Ottawa gave to Attawapiskat over
the past five years.
