Third Party Now in Charge of Finances

Northern Ontario’s Attawapiskat First Nation no longer controls its own finances.
Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Duncan has placed the financial affairs of the impoverished reserve in the hands of third-party management.
The reserve has been in the spotlight this week over deplorable living conditions.
Duncan has also ordered an audit to try to determine what
happened to the $92-million Ottawa gave to Attawapiskat over
the past five years.
