A Dryden District Heating System proves to be viable according to a new study out this week.
The pre-feasibility study was undertaken by the Dryden Development Corporation, Germany’s Lambion Energy Solutions and local business Far North Biomass.
The Heating Plant and System would generate revenue for the City and allow participating businesses to save roughly 20-percent on their heating bills.
The DES could also result in Dryden serving as a training site and potential manufacturing location for Lambion’s Ontario-based operations.
A number of steps remain before the project comes to fruition including a memorandum of understanding between all involved parties as well funding to offset costs for the construction of the District Heating Plant.
