Workers at Safeway stores in Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances have overwhelmingly ratified a new contract agreement.
A union spokesperson says the two-year deal includes a voluntary buyout package for those who choose to leave the company and lump sum payments rather than salary increases.
The agreement was reached late last week between the United Food and Commercial Workers Union and Safeway management.
Meantime, many Thunder Bay residents are mourning the loss of that citys three Safeway stores.
A nine-month-old employees strike has effectively shut down the stores.
The union and the company were unable to come to agreement about a re-vote on Safeways final contract offer yesterday.
