Thunder Bay Murder Victim’s Name Released

Thunder Bay City Police are releasing the name of the young girl who was murdered Monday during a domestic assault between her mother and her mother’s ex boyfriend.
Officials believe the 38-year-old man who died after being taken into police custody was responsible for the death of 8 year old Brandi Wingert.
Chief JP Levesque says officers are still working in the home.
Levesque says Brandi’s cause of death is currently a matter between the family and the coroner.
Police say their thoughts and prayers are with Brandi Wingert’s mother and family.
