International border problems and health care were addressed by three major Thunder Bay-Rainy River candidates at the first all-candidates debate.
Liberal Ken Boshcoff believes finding ways to inform Americans before they arrive at the border is important and he believes the Grits are making strides in improving health care with the establishment of the Northern Ontario Medical School.
Conservative David Leskowski says he Federal Government has to stop putting barriers on tourism and he is not in favour of user fees such as Ontario’s new Health Care premiums.
NDP John Rafferty says instead of pouring money into the gun registry, he believes the dollars should be spent on border protection.
Rafferty adds that the Liberal Government is not acting fast enough on recommendations made in the Romanow Report
A second debate is tentatively set for June 16th in Atikokan.
