The Region’s dependence on the forest industry will be front and centre
when Dryden hosts a special Town Hall meeting later this month.
The forum will be held on Tuesday July 19th at the Auditorium.
City Manager Arie Hoogenboom says they need the Province to start
doing something to help local communities and the struggling sector.
He adds they need the public to start lobbying the Government
for help.
Hoogenboom says the meeting came about after the Province failed to act on the recommendations contained in the forest council report.
Weyerhaeuser recently called on the Government to quickly act on the
recommendations contained in the report.
Weyerhaeuser and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union are partners in the initiative.
