Town Warning Cats May Have to be Put Down

Wanted! A good home for 7 or 8 abandoned cats in Sioux Lookout.
The Town has been backed into a corner and has been forced to set a December 3rd deadline to move the cats.
Bylaw Enforcement Officer Rob Favot says some of the cats have been sitting in the Sioux Lookout Shelter for over a year.
The Town Bylaw states that an animal can stay in the shelter for no more then 4-days.
Favot stresses they are working with the Second Chance Pet Network in Dryden, but notes they are filled to capacity.
If the cats aren’t adopted before the December deadline, they will be put down by a veterinarian in Dryden.
The story re-emphasis the urgent need to build a Regional Animal Shelter.
The Second Chance Pet Network continues to work towards that goal and is urging Northerners to vote for the project in the ‘Pepsi Refresh’ competition.
