Training May Be Needed To Take Your Boat Through Minnesota

New rules aimed at preventing the spread of invasive species in Minnesota could impact Ontario.
Beginning January 1st, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources intends to require anyone who trailers their boat or any other type of water-related equipment like docks and lifts through the State to complete an on-line training program on aquatic invasive species.
The law also applies to anglers, from other states, who are either heading to Minnesota lodges, or just passing through with their boats, to reach Ontario outfitters.
Costs of the program haven’t been announced.
