Transport Fire On Highway 17

The driver of a transport escaped unharmed after his truck caught fire on Highway 17 at Metis Road.
Wabigoon Fire was called to the Saturday evening blaze around 7:40 and the tractor unit was fully engulfed in flames.
Quick action saved the empty trailer and prevented diesl fuel from being exposed.
The cab was a complete loss.
Highway 17 was closed for roughly 90-minutes as a result.
