Treaty Three Police Say Booze And Speed Factors In Fatal Crash

Two people have died in a Friday crash on Couchiching First Nation.

Treaty Three Police say the bodies of a 23-year-old man from White Sands First Nation and a 30-year-old man from Pic Mobert First Nation were recovered from one of two vehicles that plunged into Frog Creek.

No names have been released.

Police say alcohol, speed and a lack of knowledge of the area were contributing factors to the crash.

An 18-year-old man from Thunder Bay is now facing charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving, racing and driving without a license.
