Treaty Three Police Service Optimistic About New Contract

A contract for Treaty 3 Police officers could be just around the corner.

The force has been negotiating a new agreement since 2013 when lay-off notices were issued to the entire force.

Chief Louie Napish says the bad blood remains in the past and the union has been very receptive on moving forward.

Napish notes they have a lot of work to do, but stresses he believes they are on the right path.

He says the police force is back on its feet financially and has made operational and administrative changes.

Currently the force has 76 uniformed officers on staff.
