Trillium Foundation Funding Announcement

A number of Northwestern Ontario communities recieved a shot in the arm thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The foundation has announced 900-thousand dollars in funding towards local festivals and arts projects.
The Dryden Native Friendship Centre was handed over 73-thousand dollars over three months to repair and renovate the centre, and purchase equipment for programs for area youth, adults and elders.
The Atikokan Entertainment Series recieved over 23-thousand dollars and the Atikokan Intergenerational Centre for Arts and Alternatives received 100-thousand dollars to expand cultural programs in the community.
As well, the Atikokan Sportsmens Conservation Club received 11-thousand dollars to operate its walleye fish hatchery and promote awarness about fish and wildlife in the region.
