Trucker Fails To Stop For Police

Dryden OPP have charged a local truck driver after he failed to stop for police.
OPP and the Ministry of Transportation were conducting commercial vehicle checks at the weigh scales in Vermilion Bay this week when a trucker left abruptly after receiving notice for a load violation.
OPP followed the driver for at least 20 kilometres along Highway 17 east of Vermilion Bay at a normal speed after he refused to pull over.
Police eventually decided to stop following the transport to ensure public safety.
Several hours later, officers issued a provincial offenses notice to the 51-year-old driver at his Dryden home.
