Trustees with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board have overwhelmingly approved a new contract agreement for its education support workers.
The contract, negotiated last week between both sides, is retroactive to September 2001 and will expire in October of 2004.
School Board Chair Barb Hancock says she is relieved the strike is finally over but admits it may take some time to heal the wounds created by the lengthy dispute.
On Monday, education support workers voted 87 percent in favour of ratifying the same agreement.
