A hunting trip in the Dryden area has resulted in a huge fine for two Wisconsin men.
Fines total $11,000 and infractions include wolf and bear hunting without a licence, transporting unlawfully-killed wildlife, unlawfully exporting a black bear, and making a false statement.
Court heard that Reid Viertel hunted for wolves without a licence back in February 2012.
He returned with Terry Schmit the following year and unlawfully harvested a black bear.
On both occasions documents were falsified.
Viertel has been banned from hunting in Ontario for 15-years, while Schmit will have to wait five years for a return trip to hunt.
