UPDATE: Two Dryden/Red Lake COVID Cases Travel Related

The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting two new positive cases of COVID-19.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon says both cases are listed in the Dryden and Red Lake region.

“They have no local contacts and were in isolation prior to symptoms. The two cases are travel related.”

There are also two active cases in the region.

All travel related cases are for anyone leaving northern Ontario but Young Hoon says one did relate to Manitoba.

There are now 73 overall positive cases since the pandemic started.

The Health Unit says the positivity rate for the virus is 0.2%, much lower than the provincial rate of 3.4%.

In Ontario as a whole, there were 827 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday with four more deaths.
