Two Shoal Lake Residents Hit With Hefty Fine

Two members of the Shoal Lake 40 First Nation have been fined for illegally selling walleye.

Court heard that between 2009 and 2010 Ronald and Verna Redsky sold fish from Shoal Lake to undercover conservation officers.

The lake is closed off to commercial and sports fishing of walleye.

Both Ronald and Verna recently pleaded guilty to unlawfully selling walleye harvested from Shoal Lake.

They were fined a total of $4,000 and can’t catch walleye for commercial purposes for seven years.
