Kenora OPP expects to have 12 of its cruisers equipped with video equipment by the end of this month.
Its part of a 3 year pilot project that’s also taking place in Toronto.
Mike Armstrong is the Superintendent for the Northwest Region and says the cameras will help the safety of both officers and the public.
The new video units cost $12,000 each and can record up to 9 hours of activity on DVD.
