Volunteer Firefighter Petition Collects 1,200 Signatures

There has been plenty of support to a petition in Dryden calling for a resumption of talks between the City and volunteer firefighters.

Pam Miller’s petition has almost 1,200 signatures in two weeks, with Miller stating more are coming in.

Miller says in an email to CKDR News, that she plans to submit the petition to the City Clerk to get it on the May 12th Committee of the Whole agenda for discussion.

She notes a motion to have a public meeting to hear their concerns was denied at the March 19th Council meeting, so this is the only way to get their point across.

Miller stresses local citizens are disappointed with the way the firefighter situation has been handled and states they have since seen a collapse of the service.
