In the end, the team of Kyle and Jay Hulsey hung on for first place at the Fourth Annual Sioux Walleye Weekend.
A two day total weight of 21.62 pounds was enough to capture a $7,000 cash first prize.
Jeremey and Jensen Bryan took second place while Todd and Jason MacDonald captured third. Fourth went to Jeff Storrey and Bill Harrington and Bryan Thompson and Bryon Cole rounded out the top five.
A total of55 teams took part in this years’ event, more than double the field of 24 boats in the first year.
A highlight of the second day was a free walleye shore lunch, served to some 700 residents and visitors.
Event organizers are planning the 2012 Sioux Walleye Weekend, which will coincide with the town’s Centennial Celebration.
