Water levels on Rainy Lake are returning to normal.
The International Rainy-Lake of the Woods Watershed Board says the level is now close to being back within the upper part of the rule curve, the optimal levels for this time of the year.
The Board says as it reaches the middle of that curve, lake outflows will be gradually reduced.
The lake hit the highest its been since 1950 on July 1st following heavy rains in June.
