water rates going up

Water rates are rising again in Dryden.
Council will pass a by-law at it’s June 6th meeting kicking them 10%
higher as of July 1st.
There will be another 10% hike as of January 1, 2006 in order to recover
the shortfall & hopefulyl reduce consumption.
City Engineer Brad Johns told Council Tuesday that Dryden uses 1 1/2-2
times the provincial average & hinted meters may be something to consider in
the future.
