West Nile Positive Mosquito Trapped

Northwestern Ontario has its first west nile positive mosquito of 2007.
The mosquito was picked up from a trap in the Fort Frances area.
The public is asked to take protective measures to avoid human
infection, including draining standing water, using repelent containing deet
and wearing light-coloured clothing, long pants and long sleeved shirts.
Meantime, the Northwestern Health Unit is no longer accepting dead
birds.
A total of 11 west nile positive birds were identified this summer.
