Seargent Llyod White wants to meet with the family of the
deceased Max Kakegamic.
White’s defence lawyer Harry Black told the Ontario
police services board hearing officer, he would like to
apologize to them.
The 21 year law enforcement veteran was found guilty of
two counts of misconduct under the police service act.
White plead guilty to neglect of duty for failing to
report important information, and discredible conduct.
He was originally charged with six counts of misconduct,
but four were dropped this morning.
The hearing officer will be making a decision this
afternoon whether or not to demote White to a first class
constable.
White is one of the two officers involved in the murder
investigation of Max Kakegamic in downtown Kenora, in
October 2000.
