Whitefeather undergoes E.A.

The Whitefeather Forest Initiative on the Pikangikum First Nation is currently undergoing an Environmental Assessment.

The E.A. is expected to take about two years to complete and needs to be done before any forestry activity can take place.

Paddy Peters is the manager of Whitefeather and says the community is depending on the jobs the initiative will create.

In the meantime, Peters says they are working on a joint project with the Wabigoon First Nation, Red Lake and Dryden on a value-added wood project.
