The Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation is hoping to find a location for a new kids camp in eastern Manitoba by the end of this summer.
The foundation has been looking at a site on Meditation Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park, but environmentalists have complained about the location.
Vice-President of the foundation, Dave Newnham says as far as they are concerned the location is suitable for a year-round camp.
Newnham says the area is properly zoned and has seen logging and quarry activity in recent years.
The proposed camp would cost about $10 million to build and Newnham says it would open in 2012, if they can get approval to build.
