Winnipeg Man Facing Multiple Charges From The Kenora OPP

The Kenora OPP have charged a Winnipeg man for drug possession.

Last week officers were notified of a suspicious male in the area of Valley Drive and Ninth Street North.

Police attended the scene and located a person matching the description.

The investigation led to the arrest and search of the suspect.

During the search police located nearly 30 grams of cocaine, Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking.

The street value of the drugs is estimated to be around 3 thousand dollars.

As a result 39 year old Joseph Normand of Winnipeg has been charged with resisting a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance.

He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
