Winter Walk For Children’s Mental Health Awareness Hits Dryden

Brett Marviik isn’t letting the Canadian Winter get to him.

Marviik and his three year-old Husky Nymeria are battling the cold and are walking from Toronto to Whistler, B.C. in support of Children’s Mental Health awareness.

Marviik is equipped with only a tent for sleeping along the route, but has received great support from the public including a stay in a warm Dryden-area cabin.

The Toronto area man and his dog stopped in the CKDR studios Thursday to talk about the journey and his cause.

Marviik stated he’s always tried to help out children, noting it’s tough for kids to ask for help during difficult times.

He says he didn’t expect to get the help that he’s getting.
