Woman Complains About Her Dealer – and Gets Charged

It almost sounds like the story was made up for a bad TV show.

Recently, Sioux Lookout OPP were flagged down by a woman driving a truck.

The 36 year old woman told officers that she flagged them down because she wished to tell on her drug dealer – because she was not happy with the product that they had sold her.

While officers were talking to the woman, they noticed she appeared to be impaired from the consumption of alcohol and arrested her for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

At the Sioux Lookout OPP Detachment, she provided samples of her breath to police. It was determined she had almost twice the legal amount of alcohol in her blood.

The woman was charged with:

• Impaired operation of a motor vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a)

• Operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood contrary to section 253(1)(b)

• Being a novice driver with a blood alcohol level over zero milligrams contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act

• Class G1 licence holder fail to have accompanying driver contrary to regulation 340/94 5(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

• Failing to surrender proof of insurance contrary to section 3(1) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

• Failing to surrender the permit for the vehicle contrary to section 7(5)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act

• Failing to properly display her licence plate contrary to section 7(1)(b)(i) of the Highway Traffic Act

• Failing to surrender her driver’s licence contrary to section 33(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

She is scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout court on 26 June to answer to her charges.
